Help & Support

1

Is there a minimum requirement for sod installation?

Yes, Drumm's Turf Services requires that sites within 1.5 hours of our location in Schuylerville, NY meet a minimum requirement of 1,200 sqft to schedule a free estimate, or the work itself. For sites over 1.5 hours from our location that minimum increases to 3,600 sqft and may require that we initially quote via email before scheduling an in-person consultation.

2

Is there a warranty or guarantee on your services?

Because sod is an organic product that requires proper aftercare and maintenance to root, there is no guarantee or warranty on our products and services. If you notice any issues post-installation, please contact our office IMMEDIATELY so we can advise you on the best way to proceed. We can be reached at (518)583-1168.

3

What happens if there's extra sod after the installation is complete?

To account for waste during the installation process, our estimates typically include a 10% buffer above the specific ground dimensions. While we rarely have extra rolls remaining upon completion, you will be given the option to keep any extra materials or have us remove them from site at no added cost. The project price remains as quoted regardless of these leftover materials.

4

How do you decide what type of sod we should use?

When our project manager, Brandy, visits your site she will gauge the current conditions to decide which species best suites the needs your site. We are able to install three different varieties - Kentucky Bluegrass, Fine Fescue/Kentucky Bluegrass Mixes, and Turf Type Tall Fescue. All sod is supplied by Saratoga Sod Farm.

Do you offer after-care or lawn maintenance services?

No, we do not. All aftercare and maintenance is the sole responsibility of the customer. If you need a referral for a lawn care company, feel free to give us a call at (518)583-1168.

How much should I water new sod post-installation?

Properly watering your new grass is the most important part of the installation process. Begin watering newly installed sod within 30 minutes of the installation. At least 1" of water is needed so that the soil beneath the turf is wet. Saratoga Sod Farm has some great resources available on their website regarding how to properly water your new sod. The care guides we send to every customer should also help you out!
